Cultural Centre of Evere

The Cultural Centre of Evere works on all fronts to carry out its local cultural mission. Events, extracurricular workshops, holiday courses organised by the Centre of Expression and Creativity, but also computer and literacy courses. The ties built between the different associations and the citizens are as varied as they are numerous.

The Cultural Centre of Evere is a meeting place for associations and citizens. Through a horizontal and vertical rapport, regular contacts between the groups are made, thus enhancing cultural exchange.

The Cultural Centre of Evere focuses on:

- Workshops: A wide range of workshops are set up throughout the year thanks to its Centre of Expression and Creativity. Animators also welcome children for after school homework aid. Holiday courses are organised during the school holidays.

- Learning: computer skills training in its own digital facilities.

- Literacy and homework aid classes: the aim is to encourage integration, to provide participants with a sense of autonomy and to create a space for mixing and sharing.

- The Cultural Centre also works on providing a wide range of events (concerts, plays, cinema...). These are either in their small theatre with a capacity of 65, or at the Espace Toots (180 seats).

The Coordination of Cultural Centres in Brussels interviewed Karin Fontaine, director at the Cultural Centre of Evere.
